10TH MEETING: ANSWER FOR GUIDE QUESTIONS FOR JOURNAL ENTRIES

At that moment I am so sad, lonely, feeling so alone, no one to talk to and to share with whom can understand what I am sufferring through or the others may say emo.

I were so inlove with one of my friends but he happened to be in a relationship. I was so depressed after I knew that so I went to my friends house were in they were drinking some alcoholic drinks. And because I have a big problem I doesnt think what would be the consequences of what am gonna do. I do get drunk. When some of my friends decided to stop I and one of my friend challenge each other (but i cant remember who won). And then we take some time to cool our self but they say I am crying out loud with my friends.

Way back to our house I do smell alcohol so I acted one not drunked. Perfectly acted and they didnt noticed it. I just straightly go to my room to get some sleep. And the next morning they said why am I that sleepy when I got home? What did I do and where did I went? I tell them the truth and they reacted on it. As usuall to our parents do. They told me that its bad for me so I better not do it again.

Lessons learned, OMG! that was the first time I'd experience drinking and I havent remember what I've done when I am with my friends house. I will not do the samething again I will try something new that will make me forget all the sadness like shopping.

I'd take the Tell the Truth challenge. Well actually, its not a big challenge for me. To tell you the truth I cant hardly even try to tell a lie especially when it comes to my family and friends and even somebody but white lies (too small that you can ever imagine like: not helping or giving foods to some beggars eventhough I have money or food inside my bag, i'll just said "sorry" or sometimes run) sometimes.

Its too hard for me to do some such lies, my conscience is always there its like a river that never stops running. I cant find an exact word for it but its really hard for me, promise. Its not that I am being boastful but that the reality.

Every white lie that I am telling its like its killing me. It never stops flashing ang rewinding and rewinding and rewiding in my mind. If I will suffer such a sleepless nights that only means that I have done something that my conscience cant afford. Except I am doing some school works.

The Most Challenging Thing I have ever Accomplished

This journal describes one of my own experience of completing a task, given your full effort, dedication and determination. Its an accomplishment were in I reak the peak of the mountain.

A group of my cousins planned to go to Mt. Makulot, located at Cuenca, Batangas. That was during the Lenten Season. I really want climbing and camping activies so I decided to join them. As the days pass by and that day seems o so near. I am imagining my self climbing at that mountain with no worries and all I am thinking is to be at the peak of that mountain seeing all the beautiful sceneries, to take some photos of mine, and imaging that I would be able to find our house on that high. Even once I never think of mountain climbing would be too hard.

The days that I've been waitng for had finally came. Actually before the sun sets I doesn't have any sleep. Am surely that excited. As we go to our destination we were seing so many people walking going to the church. I was so amazed because as far as I know many of us are not into sufferrings and believers of God. But I was wrong.

Finally after a very long walk were at Mt. Makulot. At first we started climbing the small one then after that was the Mt. Makulot. It was one fun, tiring and trilling one. Climbing up was the easy one compare to going down. There are many hard and big stones that you need to get through and huge roots of large tall trees. There is one thing that I have learned to, you must be able to bring enough water for the whole day for you not to be thirsty. Cause almost or I say all of the foods their selling are so expensive. An example of it was 1 small plastic cup of juice would cost Php. 10 and no discounts.

Those hard and big stones and huge roots of super large trees that I have mentioned I imagine them all of my obstacles in life. So to be able to pass through those things I just think that if I will not be able to got to the peak of this mountain it would only means that I would not be successful in everything that I do in my life. So I do all my very best to face all of that. At last I finally reached the peak of the mountain, and after I have seen that mezmerizing sceneries I became hyper and energized again.

Hope that I would climb and have a camping experience at a higher one. :)

4TH MEETING: ANSWERS FOR GUIDE QUESTIONS FOR JOURNAL ENTRIES

Self Evaluation

1. As I have seen the results of the said activity, I'm quite shocked. I wasn't expecting that most of them will wrote that I'am a happy type of a person.

2. a.Given the following situations, how would you like to be treated by your teachers and schoolmates:

-when you have given wrong answers to the questions during recitation;

Well as I far as I know nobody is perfect, so I'am expecting that even I have answered it wrong my classmates and even my teacher must or should show some appreciation. Atleast I did try to answer their question eventhough its wrong. And they should explain the right answer in a nice way. In a way that it cant hurt my feelings.

-when you are expressing your opinion during class or group discussion;

Everyone of us must listen to everyones opinion to simply show some respect. If you dont want to listen then better shut your mouth and dont murmur and dont even try to do some things just to interrupt.

-when you commit mistake;

As I have said no body is perfect so its just so ordinary to commit mistake/s. Everyone of us commint mistake so just accept the mere fact. And understand the one whom commited a mistake.

-when you don’t like doing what they ask you to do and when they want to give you their comments or suggestions?;

For me, I really want people who give their comments and suggestions because from them I may know what are the things that I might need to improve. If they ask me to do things that I didn't want to, well it depends. If I my self will benefit on those things I think I just do it and reverse.

b. Considering the given ideas on how to treat others with respect, what can you commit to yourself in terms dealing with the MCL community: teachers, students, employees, security, maintenance/janitors and canteen personnel?

As a student of MCL and as a human being I just respect them the way they respected me. So in other words if you want me to respect you better respect me to as a human being and a student and if not I will do the other way around.

4TH MEETING: GUIDE QUESTIONS FOR JOURNAL ENTRIES

Self Evaluation

Do this in your journal.

1. Looking back at the list of your positive characteristics and qualities, what do you feel and realize about it?

2. The Golden Rule says “Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.”

a. Given the following situations, how would you like to be treated by your teachers and schoolmates:
- when you have given wrong answers to the questions during recitation,
- when you are expressing your opinion during class or group discussion;
- when you are giving suggestions during group work or presentation;
- when you commit mistake;
- when you don’t like doing what they ask you to do and
- when they want to give you their comments or suggestions?

b. Considering the given ideas on how to treat others with respect, what can you commit to yourself in terms dealing with the MCL community: teachers, students, employees, security, maintenance/janitors and canteen personnel?

3RD MEETING: MY PERSONAL VALUES

~July 06, 2009
~Positive Attitude

***
I dont remember when was the time I started practicing this values. But for many years have past I could really say that it results to a better experiences. Why?

Well everyone of us is soo familiar to the word PROBLEM. Problems which lead to some people to commit suicide. Problems which they say that hard to be solve. Problems which lead to some broken families. Problems which lead to some misunderstandings.

Problem refers to a situation, matter, or person that presents perplexity or difficulty. Well lets accept the reality that in some of us doesnt know that in every problem there's always a solution. Solutions that might be found everywhere but were not into it. I mean we just dont grab that opportunity to solve that problem eventhough the solutions are there, were just only focusing on that that particular thing; problem. And were just putting it worst.

For me, one solution to that is you just think things positively. Its like your dreaming things that you would like to be done in the near future which will lead you to a better world. If everyone of us will just think positively and do it heartly I think problems would be resolved. Because once you think positively and do it heartly you might result to a good solution. In which we might not do some harsh things into our selves (e.g suicide).

When I was in high school I have this misunderstanding with my well way back before a friend but now an enemy of mine. It all started when I fell in love or felt very much in love into that guy who is really good at chess, tall (too tall for me :]), not that cute, and not that handsome, in short he is not good at anything except making me smile and crazy (in terms of talking my self into the mirror laughing and the reason is just having some flash backs of the "kilig moments or chats" that we have). Well I knew I was wrong at the first place because he does have his girlfriend and being too much in love with him is soo wrong. But chatting and joking with each other somethimes isn't wrong. But her girlfriend thinks that I'm making "landi" on his boyfriend. I tried to explain everything to her but she said some unrespectable and unhuman words to me which makes me realize that that girl is a poser!! And the guy that I'm inlove with he didn't make anything he just play chess on the chess plaza. I treated that girl soo good I even treated her as one of my good friend but she even give me sometime to explain everything she just believe on what the others are saying which are actually wrong. I cried and cried. I think all of the people who have seen and knew that will treat me untrully and unrespectedly. But after a day have past I just think positively that this would be better and a OK. I just kept on thinking that I'm not that person what she said so I just be myself. And years have past and I did have lots of good friends which I can now treasure.
*The guy is now one of my best friend.

Its good to have lots of friends but your role as a friend you must listen to her explanations first before believing to others. And you must respect them as a human being unless you yourself dont treat yourself as one. And lastly always think positive.

3RD MEETING: GUIDE QUESTIONS FOR JOURNAL ENTRY

If you will have one outstanding virtue, what would you want it to be? Why?

If I would have one outsanding virtue I think that would be "Positive attitude". In every days of our lives we coudn't tell where, when and how our problems or trials will come to test us. And to be able to solve all of that trials you must always be a Positive Thinker; being able to think positive things eventhough you have a lot of problems facing through, you must not put you're self down but you must think new and better ways how would you able to anwer them in such a good way.
Life is like Math; if there are problems ,it (must) always have solutions.
And everytime I am suffering problems I just think positive and it would be a relief.

1.) My first week of stay at MCL, well at first nervous but excited. Nervous in terms of, i doesnt have any friends or anybody to talk to and to be with; but now I can say that I already have some good friends of mine.

2.) Professors, actually my first impression to all of them is that they are all strict and hard to talk to. But then, I was wrong again. If you will just look at them you will trully have those kind of impressions but the way they talk to you is much more different, they're kind, you can easily approach them. And if you have some problems they are all welcome to listen to it.

3.) Block sections/ mates, well as of now I can say that they are all kind, they always have jokes, they always tease on each other, music lover, friendly and easy to be with. For the strenghts and weaknesses I havent discovered it yet.

4.) Courses for my program MMA (Multimedia Arts) are all challenging but I think MATH011 as the easy one but it doesnt mean that I'am really good at math but because I already know some of the lessons that were studying now, its like were reviewing our high school math. 5.) There are a lots of adjustments that I feel that I am going through. 1st MEETING: ANSWERS FOR THE GUIDE QUESTIONS FOR JOURNAL ENTRIES

The first few days that I've spent here at MCL was quite similar to some of us. Nervous but excited. Nervous in terms of, i doesnt have any friends or anybody to talk to and to be with; excited in a way that I will soon finish my studies and will soon got my own job.

Being a College Student is realy different if we are going to compare it into our High School lives. Way back before I when I was a cute, chubby, little girl i envision that once you've entered college its gonna be easier that high school, because you will just focus into youre chosen program or course. But I was soo wrong! Since the day that I have known that entering college life is difficult. I always said to myself that I better study more.

There are soo many things that differ once you enter colloge. First, in your classmates, way back in our high school life; you would be able to meet the same faces of your classmates that you have, but in college you wont. Second, you wont have any adviser that would always remind you in your projects , assignments or any requirements that you need to pass. Third, your class schedule - once that youre sched is full or straight, you wont be able to eat your lunch or even have any breaktime (so you better eat more before you go to school).

Values Education, is a course were in students would be able to learn to vary their character, moral, personal and spiritual development.

1st MEETING: GUIDE QUESTIONS FOR JOURNAL ENTRIES

1. In the first few days you've spent in MCL, how would you compare your highschool life to what you envisioned college life to be?

2. What is the importance of Values Education?

1st MEETING: COLLEGE LIFE (READINGS)

ThoughtsYou’re in college already!Your first few days in college are characterized by feeling of both excitement and worry. You are excited to see and experience by yourself what others are telling you about it. At the same time, you probably worry about how it is to live a life in collage world.Who among you felt tensed when you took the entrance test? Can you still recall the feeling when the admission officer confirmed your admission at MCL? When you saw MCL for the first time during campus tour, didn’t you find yourself saying “Wow ang ganda naman dito”, “Wow ang laki naman ng MCL”, “Dito ako magka-college”.Enrolment in College just like at MCL could be something new to you also. Might be, your parents often times did it for you, or they used to accompany you all throughout the process. Perhaps you were caught unaware that you’ll be doing it by yourself here at MCL, that you and your parents will have to separate ways: (they have to stay at the parents’ waiting area while you’re enrolling). You probably felt worried and unsure if you can do it but in the end, you reaped the good feeling of accomplishing something by yourself. Then, came the orientation day, how many of you feel excited meeting new faces? How many of you felt shy, tensed and worried being with the company of strangers. Perhaps, the orientation also helped you know MCL much deeper. What about during the first day of class, how many of you have easily established friendship and connections with other students? Who among you felt insecure, unsure, uncomfortable, tensed and felt like going home already?All the feelings of excitement, worry, fear, insecurity, tension and uncertainty are natural feelings commonly experienced by freshman college student like you. There is nothing wrong feeling that way. Commonly, freshmen student in college will pass through this stage called “adjustment period”. It is period of adapting yourself into a new environment, getting to know new acquaintances, and learning a new system. Adjustment period may last for few months. If in case you find difficulty adjusting to college, don’t hesitate to ask for help. You may share you concern with your family, with your trusted friends and teachers. And of course, The Center for Student Development, an office dedicated for the service of the students, will always make time to serve you.Welcome to College life, Welcome to Malayan Colleges Laguna!
